ludacris

The “Fast and the Furious” franchise has seen an overwhelming amount of success over the years. Look no further than movie No. 8 of the series dropping on April 14 to figure that one out.

With the eighth version of this series (“The Fate of the Furious”) getting ready to drop in a few weeks, let’s take a look at one of the more underrated characters of this franchise. Christopher Brian Bridges — better known as Ludacris — takes on the role of Tej Parker in the “Fast and the Furious” movies, and he is an essential part — to say the least.

Just to further that point, and to get Furious fans pumped up for the next flick, let’s take a look at some of Ludacris’ best moments to date.

Ludacris Meets The Cameras For First Appearance In ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’

Whether “2 Fast 2 Furious” was your favorite movie of this franchise or not, Ludacris made his first appearance in the second edition of this series.

What sticks out? Well, other than the fact that Ludacris (best known for his music career up until his appearance in “2 Fast 2 Furious”) makes his big debut, all eyes were on his afro.

Welcome to Miami, Ludacris.

‘Fast Five’: When Ludacris And The Rock Showed Up

Not only did Tej come back for another installment of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was making his big debut as well as Luke Hobbs.

In “Fast Five,” Ludacris dropped the afro and went with the short-hair look. Whether you are a fan of the fro or not, the short hair was a good change of pace, and the addition of The Rock was a game-changer.

The Tank Line In ‘Furious 6’

The stakes are raised thanks to a tank coming into the scene, and Tej drops a gem explaining that little detail, as you can see in the video above.

While tanks aren’t necessarily the best weapons to go up against, one might say, it appears Tej will finally turn the tables — and drop some comic relief in the process — in the newest “Fast and the Furious” film.

Hobbs And Tej Bonding Over Cars

Not only is this a great bonding scene between Hobbs and Tej, but they also find a way to compare the love of cars to marriage. Classic.

Toward the end of the above video, Hobbs and Tej are on the verge of teaching the car dealer/auctioneer a lesson, which is cleverly foreshadowed in the beginning of the video when Hobbs asks Tej if he is thinking about stealing the cars. Tej being Tej, he ends up buying all of them, proving to the pompous dealer that he is, in fact, a “baller.”

The Scooby-Doo Line

Roman Pearce (played by Tyrese Gibson) is known as the funny guy in this franchise, yet here Tej is, putting Pearce in his place by dropping a joke — and at Pearce’s expense, might we add.

This Scooby line even got the rest of the crew to laugh — for what it’s worth.

Key takeaway: Tej and Scooby-Doo lines equals comedy gold. Sorry, Roman.

When Tej Offers To Drive

Once again, Tej is on the verge of putting Roman in his place.

Tej, as fans have seen so many times before, is not afraid to spend a pretty penny on a car, and he shows that off once again in the clip above.

To make a long story short, Roman thought his ride was the only one of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, but Tej just so happens to have the same car. Mr. Steal Your Car comes out on top once again. Classic Tej.
